The W Lovers are is the best new duo to step into the Seattle music scene. Fleur and Wesley Wood write beautiful Americana inspired songs that you can get lost in. Telling stories through music is what great and impactful songwriting is all about – and these two have it down.

EXCLUSIVE: An interview with Scars on 45 in Seattle!

Monday, December 15th, 2014

Three years ago, I did an interview with three very charismatic lads from the band Scars on 45 at the Paramount Theater in Seattle.  At the time, they had just released their self-titled debut album with Atlantic Records and they were having a great time touring the United States with The Fray.  And I – well, I […]

Mary Lambert: “I Think it Did Take a Straight White Male To Talk About Gay Rights…”

Friday, August 29th, 2014

Mary: I think it’s interesting. I think people, in the music industry especially, have been wanting to talk about it and it has been at the forefront of a lot of peoples’ minds. But I think it did take a straight white male to talk about gay rights and have it have the command for people to notice. And it’s unfortunate that it had to be from a straight while male – in my opinion – I think it would have been so much cooler if someone in the gay community had that kind of command. The most important part of ending homophobia is just visibility and allyship. And to have someone, especially in the rap world, want to speak up about it and devote his time to it and make it part of his issue is incredible and I think it’s been life-changing for a lot of people. And on the other end, I’m on the phone – so it has opened doors for me as a gay artist.

It’s all about the DIRTY SHINE: An interview with ZZ Ward

Friday, February 22nd, 2013

Every time I talk to ZZ Ward, I get just a little more inspired by her.  Her unyielding determination, her courage to do something different – to promote DIRTY SHINE – have left no question in my mind that the only direction that this woman is going is up. ZZ was kind enough to sit […]

R&B bombshell ZZ Ward set to play Seattle’s Crocodile on Fire and Shine tour 2/17 + interview

The first time I heard ZZ Ward’s voice, I knew that I had stumbled upon something magical – something incredibly special. It’s not just her voice either…it’s her all-around musical depth and rhythm – it’s her radiating self-confidence and raw talent. Her debut record, ‘Til the Casket Drops, is a collection of bluesy, gritty songs with the dirtiest beats you can find (in a really good way) and if you haven’t checked it out, I suggest you drop everything and do it right now.
