AJR Brothers brought a whole lot of fun to the Moore with Ingrid Michaelson + interview

Brothers Adam, Jack and Ryan Met of AJR are no strangers to showing an audience a good time. They’ve opened for an impressive list of artists – Demi Lovato, Train, Andy Grammer to name a few – but I’m pretty sure we’re going to see some pretty big names opening for them someday. 🙂 I was lucky enough to connect with the guys just before their opening set for Ingrid Michaelson in Seattle and learn a little bit about them.

Ingrid Michaelson brings “Hell No” tour to Seattle’s Moore Theater

When the lights dimmed down at Seattle’s Moore Theater last night, the audience went wild for their super woman, Ingrid Michaelson. Strings of white light swirled along the walls of the room and an ambient track made up of bits and pieces of Ingrid’s voice and music made her introduction powerful and immediately engaging.

Freewheelin’ Marc Scibilia makes a stop in Seattle + interview

Donning a red plaid shirt and his trademark wild, curly hair, Marc Scibilia made his way over to me in the bar of Seattle’s historic Columbia City Theater on Tuesday night – just about an hour before the last show of his tour with fellow Nashville-dwelling singer-songwriter Jon McLaughlin. There are a few influences that I can hear […]

Mark McGrath’s Under The Sun Tour: “This is a show for the fans!” + interview

The tour, which currently features 90s hit-makers Sugar Ray, Eve 6, Better Than Ezra and Uncle Kracker, is all about fun and giving the fans what they want. “A couple years ago, I said ‘why don’t we get a couple bands from the nineties together? We’ll play a solid night of hits and hit some beautiful venues that we could never play by ourselves anymore and have some fun!’”

18 days left: You can be a part of The W Lovers debut album release!

The W Lovers are is the best new duo to step into the Seattle music scene. Fleur and Wesley Wood write beautiful Americana inspired songs that you can get lost in. Telling stories through music is what great and impactful songwriting is all about – and these two have it down.

Pentatonix takes a cappella to a new level on latest EP

In this world, we have people who follow paths and people who pave them.

Acappella group Pentatonix has taken non-instrumental vocal artistry to an entirely new level and is paving a way for acapella groups into the mainstream. After winning The Sing Off, the five members of the group: Mitch Grassi, Scott Hoying, Avi Kaplan, Kirstie Maldonado and Kevin Olusola decided that they wanted to not only continue covering songs that people love – but to also start writing new songs for people to love.

R&B bombshell ZZ Ward set to play Seattle’s Crocodile on Fire and Shine tour 2/17 + interview

The first time I heard ZZ Ward’s voice, I knew that I had stumbled upon something magical – something incredibly special. It’s not just her voice either…it’s her all-around musical depth and rhythm – it’s her radiating self-confidence and raw talent. Her debut record, ‘Til the Casket Drops, is a collection of bluesy, gritty songs with the dirtiest beats you can find (in a really good way) and if you haven’t checked it out, I suggest you drop everything and do it right now.

Making room for the positive: Tristan Prettyman on her new album ‘Cedar + Gold’

Every song on Cedar + Gold is like a window into the soul of an artist who is learning how to deal with the worst, while still hoping for the best. “I don’t take a story and spin it. I didn’t do that with this record, didn’t do that with these songs. I didn’t take something and make it mean something else. I literally took it and this is it. There’s no metaphor or something else I’m trying to get at. Just, ‘here it is.’ It was honest.”
