The Rhythm of Oz: Get Hooked on The Jezabels

There’s nothing like a good Aussie band to cheer me up on a daily basis. I mean really, the bands popping up from down under are blowing my mind! One of my favorite Aussie bands, The Jezabels – comprised of Nik Kaloper, Sam Lockwood, Hayley Mary and Heather Shannon – are bringing their brand of what I like to call alternative electro-pop sizzle to ears across the world.

Jesse Thomas goes in depth about her latest EP and upcoming record

The Los Angeles based, Kentucky born Thomas released her debut EP last August and has been attracting positive attention ever since. The attention, surprising as it may seem, was unexpected on the part of Jesse who says that she never really saw herself as a musician until it actually happened.

Foo Fighters have done it again with ‘Wasting Light’

Review: Joshua Radin, Showbox at the Market 3/9

As usual, Seattle welcomed Joshua Radin with open arms, selling out the historic Showbox theater downtown. Once the crowd settled in, nobody seemed to want to leave their coveted spots so as not to miss any part of the show.

The Magic and Music of Seattle’s Own The Head and The Heart

The Magic and Music of Seattle’s Own The Head and The Heart

Living in a city that is so abundant with music, it can be hard to stand out. Luckily, that hasn’t been an issue for Seattle-based band The Head and The Heart – in fact, they seem to have been fated for success. When you read the story of how Charity and Jon randomly met and wrote their first song on the front bench of Conor Byrne on open mic night, you’ll understand what I mean. The magical meeting of the band members must’ve been some kind of sign of things to come – a hint toward the magic that they’d soon create through music.

A perfect pair: Introducing Beau & Regan

From the moment I heard Beau & Regan’s debut album, Ready or Not, I knew they were something special. It might’ve been some kind of home-state ESP, since these two are originally from Minneapolis, MN – but I think it was more likely the pair’s organic and honest approach to writing.
The eloquent quality of the vocals on this record combined with the delicate drumming and guitar riffs makes for a soothing and enchanting listening experience. It’s even more impressive to know that it was recorded in a bedroom, not in an over-the-top studio, over the course of a month or so.
